This tale begins ten years after the sack of Troya (classical Troy -- al names are in their authentic Bronze Age form, with the familiar classical versions in parentheses here). King Menelawo (Menelaus) rules Lakedaimon (Laconia or Sparta), his nephew Oresta (Orestes) having grown up, orphaned, in his household. They sail north at the behest of an ally who is at war with Attika and T'eshaliya (Thessaly). Menelawo enlists the help of Diwomede (Diomedes), commander of a fortress at Tiruns, and of Odusheyu (Odysseus or Ulysses), a former king, newly freed from Mizriyan (Egyptian) slavery. They vanguish their enemies, killing prince Purwo (Pyrrhus), who, unfortunately, is Menelawo's son-in-law, necessitating the rescue of princess 'Ermiyona (Hermione).
