This booklet was originally produced in 1997, when the author was national pistol secretary of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain and specialised in shooting reproduction smoothbore flintlock pistols. The booklet is intended as a simple guide to "making your own" gun-flints, not only for the sake of economy (gun-flints are expensive in the UK!) but also to provide the consistency of ignition timing necessary for competitive target shooting with flintlock muzzle loading arms. It's here now in e-book format, the original booklets being long out of print. Although originally written for the UK muzzle loading enthusiast, the practical information contained in the booklet should be useful for muzzle loaders of any nationality wishing to learn how to produce consistent, reliable and economical flints for their original or reproduction firearms.
