I got the idea of writing this and all the other “Alex’s Bilingual Children’s Book Series” because I could not find that many bilingual children's books in the area where we live. Many times I found myself reading a book in English to my son and then translating it into Spanish so he would practice both languages. Other times, I found myself reading a book in Spanish and translating it into English so my son would understand. I also found that it was hard to find a bilingual book with a good message at the end of the story. This book not only allows kids to learn Spanish and/or English, but hopefully will teach them how the economy affects all of us, including the little ones.
