This book began as a typographical error. Not the ordinary type of error - pardon the pun - that demanded the use of white-out or Correc-Tape. But an entirely electronic misstep, born of the then-new age of personal computers. It was immediately apparent on the screen that the result of a mis-directed finger on the keyboard had become a fortuitous combination of ideas that had not previously played well together - in other words a little monster. The book began to grow out of this notion and thereby itself became a monster, a hybrid creature in both form as well as content.
