The Space Shuttle program has served this country for thirty years. It has been the source of immense pride and deep sorrow for our country. It has kept the manned space flight program alive within the United States and in the global market place. The Space Shuttles were used to build the International Space Station, launched various military and commercial satellites, performed tests, repaired the Hubble Telescope and more. Well, that's all gone now.The viable shuttles, which could have flown safely for another 5 to 10 years, with sufficient upgrades, are now defunct and have been literally shuffled off to various museums to be viewed like any other dinosaur, without the support that is needed to sustain an exhibit as precious as this.
