A Hole in the Sand was originally written in 2006 as a Two-Act play. It is copyrighted and I have converted it here to a short novella format for Kindle. This is the story of five groups of soldiers in a hypothetical war in the desert. All activity takes place on a single night in a foxhole or “hole in the sand.”While this is a war story, it is more about people, beliefs, the human condition and of course my favorite subject, religion. It reads like a play as our characters discuss life, love, war and hate as the bullets fly and the bodies fall.This story would be particularly interesting for a Freethought Alliance, Secular Humanist or even a liberal Sunday school discussion group.
