In 2008 Garry Kilworth rode 4000 kms through the Queensland outback from Brisbane to Cairns via the Gulf of Carpenteria on a Honda 110 Australian Postie Bike. The rally took place only a month after he had passed his motorcycle test, never having ridden before. The trip involved crossing rivers, negotiating tracks thick with red bull dust, camping out in the wilderness under the stars and avoiding kangaroos and snakes on the highways. Forty-nine other riders took part in the annual Postie Bike Challenge and a total of forty-six finished without being flown off to hospital with broken bones. This is an odyssey through the bush.
