As Mondays with Mephistopheies begins the readers isn't . . . quite . . . sure WHAT type of being IS the good doctor dealing with? It's a grand surprise of a short story as the reader checks off the list of possibilities - an alien? MIB? Something with pale 'skin' that doesn't like bright lights - clever in its timing and parallels 'Mondays with Mephistopheles' is as much sociology as supernatural. Not to knock 'Tuesday with Morrie' but 'Mondays with Mephistopheles' only has one or two things in common - beginning with its grave topic. I encountered Dan O'Brien through his posts on the page of a Facebook Friend about the time he was publishing 'The End of The World Playlist' . . . and thought what. the. hell?? ...
