Two young Middle Eastern brothers live as what they consider to be “strangers,” in emotional isolation from their “Western” environment.
They try to “make it,” to be “leaders” or “heroes” and prove themselves. People do love them, but they don’t believe it, since they don’t understand Western society’s remote and cold mentality.
They become disenchanted, disappointed and alone. One radicalizes the other, and they end up doing a very bad thing.
A young orphaned girl, a holocaust survivor, finds herself living as an adopted child in proximity to them. She is witnessing their story, and many others’. She finds herself to be quite clairvoyant, and while living this life, simultaneously remembers several lives of other people as well.
