This book is a creative work of non-fiction and is based on the actual convict papers of a young Scottish convict, George Salmond that had come into my possession. Although George is not connected to my family in any way his story captivated me and with an interest in my own family history I felt obliged to share the story with others who may be interested in the foundation of the great country opf Australia. What George faced during his incarceration may depress many readers and it is hoped that such times are never again repeated although sometimes I wonder if much has changed in the world in the last 150 years or so. Lie many of us I still ask the question of "what happened to George Salmond and his siblings?"Written in memory of my late brother, Edwin.
