Lonnie the Lion is a story about a lion cub growing up in the jungle like any other lion, except he cannot roar, or even make a sound. The other animals both love him and make fun of him. What can a lion become if they cannot roar? Certainly, not “King of the Jungle”. But, when a fire threatens all of the jungle animals, Lonnie finds his voice and roars so loudly, it puts out the fire. This is a “feel good” story with a moral. Children and adults will see a similar pattern of a child growing up in the world. They may struggle to find their way, however, there is a time when they will come into their own, grow up, and find their identity. And, ultimately, they will take their own place in the world. The author lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and son. Suitable for children 3-8 years old.
