I totally understand it’s difficult for men or woman to come out about their sexuality. However I’ve seen it from the other side. I’ve been the girl that got hurt and I can’t condone that no matter how hard it is. Rio’s parents made it extremely difficult for him to come out, his upbringing his sibling etc. etc. He went to a boy’s school and in plays would play the female part. This could have been an indication of his sexuality but his father refused to attend any performances where he was playing the opposite sex. This may have been a result of his Dad’s culture but there are homosexuals in Jamaica too. All I know is as a result of Rio feeling unable to come out I got hurt. I felt embarrassed and ashamed. I know it’s selfish and I should consider how difficult it was for Rio but I can’t help how I feel. It’s politically correct to talk about the difficulties Homosexuals can face when ...
