IntroductionThese reflections in the Assumption of Mary into heaven are taken from the General teachings of the Church as well as from the Gospel. The first four chapters are reflections upon the beginning of the Encyclical Letter of Pius XII addressed to Catholics which defined the doctrine and presented to the faithful on November 1, 1950. I have also added a personal reflection on the last three chapters on the significance of Mary’s Physical location at the time of her Assumption and her Spiritual Union with God; lastly, in Chapter seven a chapter dedicated to Mary’s union with us after the Assumption. There have been tens of thousands of writings on the Assumption and I felt that I needed to join in the sacred conversation with all of other writers who have contributed so significantly to this great Catholic doctrine.
