A novel narrated in the First-person describing the life-time thoughts and experiences of a male of monstrous physical and mental attributes. He begins as a boy in hospital in the first half of the twentieth century in the county of Cheshire in England UK, and ends with him as a dying man somewhere near Marrakesh in Morocco. From the start he is divorced from reality, and lives in his own imaginings about people and events. He is self-obsessional, irrational, and cruel. He breaks down and loses control at the end of Part One, but regains some stability in his narration in Part Two when he is washed up in Morocco. When people and situations from his early life in Cheshire are echoed by similarities to the people and situations in Morocco he himself wonders what is real and what delusion in his lfe, and if he had ever left the boyhood hospital in Cheshire or recast the people in his later ...
