.This short story is based on the actual events of two ornery, soon to be teenage boys and the mischief that "normal" boys of that age get into. Normal that is, if you lived in rural West Virginia in the 1960's. Everything from raiding the neighbor's garden to stealing apples from old man Sisk's orchard. The trouble that these two get into is mostly small potato's. Things like hitting the tin roof of the coal tipple with rocks, which was so loud inside that the minors would come out and chase them off. Life was good for Calvin and Danny until one of them got the idea that they should steal a few cigarette and a beer from their parents. They reckoned they'd go up to the tree house and act big and tough.They would smoke the stolen cigarette and get drunk on the beer. Danny's older brother, Don, discovered their plan and devised a plan to interrupt them while they were in the tree house. ...
