When the first Manx cat was made he had a lovely long tail, but he wasn't very happy with it. He soon meets the first monkey who is keen to make a trade: one of his nine lives in return for the cat's tail. But the first Manx cat is greedy and decides to steal all of the monkey's lives while he is sleeping.
He creeps up the tree and makes a grab for the bag of lives, but slips and falls to the ground... leaving his tail in the monkey's hand.
The first monkey loves the tail so much that he forgives the first Manx cat for trying to steal his nine lives and the pair agree on a swap.
