In November 2005 the ducks in the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide watched bemusedly as a circle of about thirty humans gathered to worship, “the ancient God of this evolving life. A God who is beyond us, became one with us, and remains within and amongst us.”Or at least that’s what the poster said.They were called together by Rev Dr Jason John, a Uniting Church Deacon. This is a potted history of the first couple of years of the Adelaide Ecofaith Community, which as of 2014 continues to meet under their own leadership in Botanic Park.Apart from the historical interest, it may be of use if you are thinking of starting your own new faith community.
