The Great Dream is a fusion of Aboriginal Australian dreamtime storytelling and Tibetan Bon dream yoga practices.
In the first part of the story 'The Dream of Creation', Cloudskipper dreams of a five colored rainbow (similar to the rainbow serpent of the Aboriginal Dreamtime), each color represents an element from the Bon tradition. He dreams space using the white space element, forms the Earth using the yellow earth element, creates the atmosphere using the green air element, produces the seas, oceans and rivers using the blue water element and finally creates the sun using the red fire element.
In the second part 'How the Stars Were Made' he introduces his friends from the dreaming to the new earth and provides them with guides in the form of beings of light (dakinis or angels) these beings then become the stars to watch over from afar.
