It was a small house, a Type-II house. In summer it was a hot house, in winter it was a cold house, its walls were always blue with seepage and its taps were mostly dry. Yet, I loved that house on the top floor of a leafy government campus in Chandigarh. It was the house to which my parents brought me when I was a day old. And I spent all my childhood, adolescence and teenage in it. This is a book anchored to that house. In parts, it’s a book about that house, but more than that it is a picture of my life in the 1980s and 1990s.
