Thomas Anderson, retired chemistry professor, is in danger. His next-door neighbour, an elderly widow named Mrs Reddenhurst, is trying to kill him. Every day she leaves a poisoned tray of food for his lunch but he has so far managed to evade her murderous intentions.
His only friend, an old colleague from the university where he taught, comes over every day but so far the Professor has not told him about what Mrs Reddenhurst is up to. The time isn’t right.
