This book was written with both children and parents in mind. Adults use idioms on a regular basis in their daily conversations. An idiom is an expression that can't be understood using the usual meaning of the words used. I have used the idiom "It's raining cats and dogs" in the title and this is a perfect example of an idiom. This expression (idiom) has been used for hundreds of years and it means that is is raining heavily and, without an explanation of this, children (and some adults) could not possibly understand what someone is talking aboutI created this book to explain idioms to children and I have included the origin of the idioms in most cases.
