Although based on real events, this is a work of fiction in the mystery/suspense genre which aims at providing entertainment rather than historical accuracy. The Queen of Sheba's visit to King Solomon was originally recorded in the Bible in 3 Kings 10. Another version was later recorded in 2 Chronicles 9. Most British Bibles record only the Chronicles version, although this is the less accurate. Both versions are newly translated as an Appendix to this novel. As stated above, although based on real events and real people, the author's aim has been to provide gripping and suspenseful entertainment with lively and believable characters, rather than dull history.
