A first person omniscient narrator describes the tribulations of five residents that live in a low income complex. When a watch is stolen from an apartment, the tenants believe the maintenance man who visited early that day may be responsible. After years of alienation, the fifteen year retired patrolman turned hermit finally leaves his apartment after being morally injected into the dispute over the stolen watch. Once all six of them are together, the retiree decides to share some of his troubles in hopes of shedding some light on his neighbors continual conflicts. A short story of 5,000 words.
