This is an account of the WW2 experiences of a country lad volunteer from West Wales as he joined the R.A.F. and then was shunted around multiple UK and Canada postings for the next 6 years, never seeing true “active service”. It is an antidote to the very many heroic stories of gallantry and bravery, but probably a story that many volunteers can relate to!It is not without humour, nor stories of adventure, particularly in the Canada chapters where pilot training took some unexpected turns. It was written and completed by Vincent Leonard Warlow (known to all as “Len”) less than one month before his untimely passing away in November 1996 at the age of 76 years.
