This is my Mom’s recipe for a Punch Bowl cake. Much of the literatures I’ve read refer to it as a southern dish. Well, Mom lived in Memphis, TN. You can get a little more southern but not much.I Googled Punch Bowl Cakes and I searched Pinterest. I found many variations. However, most of them used canned cherries between the layers and many used Jello pudding of some type.I have also searched through our cookbooks. We have acquired hundreds since our first Kindle offering. I am still looking for an exact match. The Punch Bowl Cake is a very interesting cake in that you “kinda” build it from the first layer of cake, the foundation to the final layer of Cool Whip. It was in my Mom's handwriting.
