This is a book of poetry and image that deals with the angelic transformation through compassion. With this book, I am writing about the second womb: compassion and the rescue that occurs within the NICU for the baby, family, and caretakers. The second womb, the nest or NICU, and the world of crisis that exists within it, brings one face to face with the challenge of change, the threat of death and the realization that life is only authentic when it is lived fully and openly. The tiniest of premies takes us to the precipice and we either fall over the edge or fly off of it. Like the nestling, we are given the choice.
