Lucy Dyer is a comparatively young actress famous for playing Katie the intelligent robot on stage and screen. While recuperating from a car-crash she decides to write her autobiography, or rather have an autobiography written for her. Daniel is the ghost writer assigned to the project and all should be simple. However, but there are explosive secrets to be teased out, tragedies looming large and the complex relationships between actors and film studios to circumnavigate. As he begins to assemble the biography, Daniel forgets the golden rule of ghost writing; ‘never get involved’ or rather ‘never be seen to be involved.’ In all this, as the story unfolds, we get to see Lucy’s life laid out before us with all its vicissitudes and chances. However, the main problem is, where will this story end - in yet another heartbreak or contentment?
