This is a Historical Novel. Paul was in Ethiopia as a Technical Specialist to the Ministry of Education from 1983 through 1985. While there he met the individual in this book although all of the names have been changed to protect the innocent. It is a moving story about two young girls who were orphaned when their father killed their mother, rather than watch her slowly starve to death during one of that country's long droughts. To perform this dastardly deed, he took his family out into a deep wooded area. There he killed his wife and ran off leaving the children to their own destiny. They were miraculously saved by two hunters and the story then becomes a portrait of the youngest child's courage as she grew up in an orphanage in Addis Ababa.
